New About Objects Headquarters Opens March 2023
By 2020, we came to the realization that our existing headquarters no longer met our needs. So in early 2021, we embarked on a journey to find a new space to create a dynamic workplace with an atmosphere that reflected our culture and mission. First we needed a location. Mark at Broadstreet Realty, helped scour through commercial listings and led us on field trips to available office spaces to narrow down options. After a bit, we landed on a suitable space that would need a full demo and build out. A blank slate!
With the physical space secured, we started working with Robyn and Leslie, architects from DBI, on design and layout for in the new space. Many tireless hours were spent in the design phase to find the perfect combination of furniture, floor plan and finishes. And since the buildout was on the heels of Covid lockdowns we navigated through additional challenges. There were a fair amount of product swaps due to discontinuations, vendor and construction setbacks and to extra-long lead times stemming from supply chain issues. All of these unforeseen issues added up to a much longer than anticipated completion date.
Fast forward to 2023, we are very excited to unveil our new headquarters! Our new office was even featured in the Officeworks Inc. catalogue, showcasing its innovative design and modern features. You can see more photos from the catalogue here.
Step through the front door and you’ll find yourself in a tech oasis like no other. The inviting floor plan was intentionally designed blending work and leisure spaces that strike a balance between collaborative and private spaces. Open workspaces, team rooms and lounge spaces encourage spontaneous interactions and idea exchanges, while private nooks and work spaces offer a retreat for focused work. The fluidity of the space allows teams to seamlessly transition between brainstorming sessions and individual deep dives. It’s an environment that recognizes the diverse needs of a modern workforce, promoting collaboration without sacrificing the importance of independent thought.
