VisionOps: Spatial Comuting at Scale

When we started building VisionOps, we weren’t trying to chase a trend. We were chasing a challenge. How could we take everything we’ve learned from decades of building enterprise-grade systems and apply it to Apple’s new medium that is spatial, immersive, and intelligent?

VisionOps is our answer. It is a spatial at-scale platform created by engineers who have spent their careers designing systems that just work. It isn’t a concept or a demo. It’s production software that brings real-time data, AI, and 3D visualization together across Apple Vision Pro, iPad, iPhone, and Mac. It provides organizations with a shared, live view of their operations and delivers the kind of experiences that feel like science fiction movies.

Applications Built on the VisionOps Platform

FieldOps

Our first application on the VisionOps platform is FieldOps, developed in partnership with public safety agencies that were willing to explore what’s next. FieldOps transforms event planning and incident management. Commanders can plan, monitor, and adapt in real time during parades, stadium operations, or disaster response. When you see it working in a live environment, it’s as if data gains physical form, a space you can step into, explore, and understand naturally.

DroneOps

With DroneOps, created in collaboration with Hidden Level, we took VisionOps into the air to help protect critical airspace from unauthorized drone activity. Hidden Level’s passive radar network detects, classifies, and tracks drones, while our spatial visualization engine transforms that data into a living, three-dimensional picture of the sky. Operators can view and interact with this environment in the Vision Pro, no longer tied to a wall of monitors in an obscure command center location.

Seeing it live in 3D from my living room is a reminder that situational awareness shouldn’t depend on where you’re sitting.

Extending Beyond Public Safety

The public sector has been among the boldest in showing what is possible when spatial and AI technologies work together. Now, private organizations in energy, insurance, construction, and utilities are doing the same. They use the VisionOps platform to enable immersive, real-time collaboration that connects teams across the field and command centers, reduces travel and training expenses, and promotes shared spatial awareness in every operation. For the first time, entire workforces can train, inspect, and collaborate remotely, in context, in 3D, and at scale.
